Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Saint Paul, MN seeks a Patient Services Representative Associate to be the first point of contact for patients, helping them navigate appointments, insurance details, and financial assistance options.

This role requires 6+ months of customer service, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work evening shifts and every other weekend with holiday rotation. Training starts during daytime hours for 3 weeks.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience.
• Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work daytime hours for initial training and evening shifts thereafter.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, directs them to appointments and procedures.
• Collects and verifies demographic, insurance, and benefits information.
• Checks in patients and completes required paperwork, including financial forms.
• Explains costs, collects co-pays, and discusses financial assistance options.
• Addresses claim issues and documents resolutions in the EMR.
• Performs registration for accounts and work queues.
• Provides customer service for inbound/outbound calls and schedules add-ons.
• May mentor staff and gather medical record information as needed.
