Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Fridley, MN is seeking a Patient Access Representative Associate to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance data, and enter information into the electronic medical record. You will verify insurance eligibility, collect co-pays, assist with financial assistance programs, and help patients navigate registration and billing questions.

This role supports scheduling add-ons, directs patients to their appointments, and may mentor colleagues while delivering

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience in healthcare or related settings.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work 2:30pm–11:00pm on weekdays and every other weekend.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Willingness to train during first weeks.
• Experience with Epic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in person.
• Collect demographic and insurance information.
• Check in and interview patients to complete paperwork.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Explain cost information and collect co-pays/deductibles.
• Assist with financial assistance applications and referrals.
• Direct patients to appointments and assist scheduling as needed.
