Job summary

Tufts Medicine in Westford, MA is seeking a part-time Patient Access Associate to join our on-site Urgent Care team. The role focuses on revenue cycle operations, including patient registration, insurance verification, and pre-service financial clearance for scheduled visits.

You will interview inpatients and outpatients, collect demographic and financial information, explain payment responsibilities, assist with pre-authorizations, and ensure accurate data entry within the EHR system while

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred experience in customer service or hospital registration.
Ability to work 20 hours per week with specified shifts.

Responsibilities

Conducts Pre-Registration tasks for inpatients and outpatients prior to service, collecting demographic, financial and clinical information.
Obtains consent for treatments and authorizations as necessary and explains requirements to patients.
Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility, and ensures proper plan codes are set in the system.
Collects information for auto and worker's compensation registrations and documents missing data.
Notifies patients of financial liabilities and assists with time-of-service collections.
