Tufts Medicine is seeking a Patient Service Representative I for Westford Urgent Care. This part-time evening role handles patient registration, financial clearance, and insurance verification, ensuring accurate, courteous service in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include collecting demographic/financial data, scheduling, and communicating billing policies. Requires a high school diploma and 1 year of customer service; training during day shift is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of customer service in healthcare or similar setting preferred.
• Familiar with private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and financial clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interview inpatients/outpatients for registration with courteous demeanor.
• Collect demographic and financial information for financial clearance.
• Verify insurance eligibility and perform pre-authorization as needed.
• Post payments and educate patients on financial responsibilities.
• Communicate policy and scripting for time-of-service collections.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and accurate record-keeping.
