Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk in Suffolk County seeks a Painter - Facilities Engineering to join the team as a full-time, evenings position. Under general supervision, you perform interior and exterior painting, refinishing surfaces, and prepare areas for finish using brushes, rollers, and scrapers.

Responsibilities include prioritizing work, communicating with supervisors, maintaining supply inventories, coordinating with contractors, repairing walls, and keeping safety and cleanliness standards

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in painting industry.
• Ability to stand/walk for an entire 7.5 hour shift.
• Knowledge of painting tools, techniques, paints and painting products used in the trade and the ability to correctly use them.
• Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and material.

Responsibilities

• Perform necessary painting and refinishing of interior and exterior building surfaces and furnishings using brushes, rollers, scrapers, and related tools.
• Prepare areas for painting by masking, removing fixtures, and protecting surroundings.
• Organize work carts and supplies to minimize trips and maximize efficiency.
• Maintain inventory and logs of paints, finishes, and areas painted.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and facility personnel for contracted painting work.
• Repair damaged walls or surfaces as needed and prepare floors for new installations.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper documentation of work orders and preventive maintenance.
