Job summary

Weill Cornell Medicine in New York's Upper East Side is seeking a Painter to maintain interior and exterior finishes. Under direct supervision, you will perform painting, plastering and masonry tasks, and work with wallpaper coverings as needed.

At least 2 years of painting experience and a High school diploma are required; a NY driver’s license is required if using a vehicle. This non-exempt position is part of IUOE Local 30 and includes weekday shifts with some weekend work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Approximately 2 years of painting, plastering and masonry experience.
• May require NY State driver's license if role requires WCM vehicle use.

Responsibilities

• Provides stakeholders with status updates, issues, key activities and changes to the scope of the overall project.
• Documents and provides updates on work performed.
• Develops scope of work for projects and identifies material and labor necessary; obtains material pricing from vendors.
• Paints interior and exterior surfaces of the facility; installs and repairs wallpaper coverings.
• Patches plaster, sheetrock, masonry, metal and wood surfaces.
• Inspects condition of various architectural systems and finishes; identifies areas needing refinishing and makes color/finish recommendations.
