Job summary

PITT OHIO in Hermitage, PA is seeking a part-time outbound dockworker to join our team. The schedule runs Monday to Friday, starting at 6 PM, with competitive pay and pathway to a top rate after six months.

Duties include loading/unloading per DOT rules, handling freight by hand or with equipment, and completing daily paperwork. Applicants must read and write English, perform basic math, and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Qualifications

• Pass a non-DOT physical examination.
• Consent to pre-employment drug screen; result must be negative.
• Ability to read/write English and perform simple math.
• Consent to ten-year work history check; gaps must be explained.
• At-will employment; no guaranteed duration.

Responsibilities

• Read and communicate with customers; perform basic math; handle receipts; read shipping labels; follow loading instructions.
• Load and unload freight per DOT requirements using hand truck or dolly.
• Sort and secure items on trucks or dock to prevent damage.
• Lift cartons, bags, crates, drums, pipes, bars, rugs, etc.
• Use carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and tow motors.
• Stand, walk, push, pull, bend, reach and lift heavy items as required.
• Work safely and comply with regulations to minimize risk.
• Process all paperwork daily related to the job.
• Be available to work; exceptions require management approval.
• Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude; perform other duties as directed.
