Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a patient transporter to support the operating room team at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Dickson City in the evening shift. You will assist with transporting patients to and from the OR, help position and transfer anesthetized patients, and support cleaning and turnover between cases.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, mature judgment, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Mature and conscientious behavior.
• Sound judgment and basic technical skills.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in activities to increase OR productivity and efficiency.
• Promotes a positive patient experience by supporting the surgical team.
• Assists with transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
• Ensures availability of instruments and supplies and assists with opening.
• Provides emotional support during pre-operative contact with the patient.
• Performs cleaning and disinfection of operating areas after cases.
• Handles and processes patient specimens as required.
