Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a patient transporter to move patients between units and diagnostic areas, ensuring safety and high-quality service.

You will operate wheelchair/bed transports, respond to alerts, maintain equipment inventory, and support throughput with compassionate customer care. Evening shifts with weekend/holiday rotation, located at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg, 2545 Schoenersville Rd.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to deliver high level customer service.
• Demonstrates compassionate, positive, and upbeat demeanor in interactions with customers and patients.
• Ability to multi-task and take initiative.
• BLS (AHA) certification within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely and promptly as directed by staff and procedures.
• Attends required training and departmental meetings for transport planning.
• Uses transport software to support patient throughput and capacity initiatives.
• Coordinates activities in the discharged patient holding area.
• Handles portable oxygen cylinders safely.
• Obtains transport equipment as needed.
• Receives and documents transport assignments.
• Performs equipment functions—receiving, stocking, transporting, cleaning, sanitizing.
• Removes excess oxygen tanks to proper storage.
