Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Patient Transport Associate to escort and assist patients as ordered by physicians, supporting direct patient care and transportation through hospital departments.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, minimal supervision, multitasking, strong communication, and BLS certification upon hire. Day shifts with possible weekend rotation are available in an onsite hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and take initiative.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from hospital departments for radiology testing.
• Assists in transport of patients eligible for discharge.
• Uses the hospital telephone system for transport orders and tracking.
• Assists nurses and technologists in moving patients in beds, stretchers, or wheelchairs.
• Provides directional information to guests, visitors, and family members.
• Helps patients change clothes as requested.
• Retrieves, cleans, and stores transport equipment; replaces oxygen tanks as needed.
