Job summary

Penske Logistics LLC is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a team of drivers and hourly staff at a Woodridge, IL location. You will oversee daily tasks, scheduling, and customer service operations to meet service and cost objectives.

The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills, with a focus on process improvement, safety, and attendance. Shift is Monday–Friday, with potential off-shift work during peak periods and holidays.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect, build rapport and relationships with associates and customers.
• Must have ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required.
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
• Must demonstrate ownership and responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to travel as necessary and adhere to the schedule at the specified location.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drivers and hourly staff to meet customer requirements and Penske goals.
• Provide operational leadership for daily tasks including deliveries, loading/unloading, and customer service operations.
• Manage workforce and equipment scheduling and performance management, including corrective actions up to written warnings.
• Ensure compliance with safety, financial, and company policies; conduct safety observations and training.
