Job summary

ProScribe, LLC seeks a medical scribe to support providers by documenting encounters in electronic medical records, enabling improved provider efficiency, accuracy, and patient flow.

The ideal candidate will be 18+, have a high school diploma, be able to pass a background check and drug screen, and type 45+ WPM. Availability for 8–12 hour shifts and both part-time and full-time schedules in Edinburg, TX is required, with strict HIPAA and Joint Commission compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the US
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen
• Ability to obtain vaccinations as required by specific site
• Typing speed 45+ WPM
• Ability to fluently read, write, and understand English
• Part-time: two shifts per week (16-24 hours) for min 6 months
• Full-time: three shifts per week (32+ hours) for min 12 months

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts to support healthcare providers
• Enter the patient room with the physician during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation
• Thoroughly update all components of the patient's medical record at the physician's direction
• Update all components of the medical record including subjective and objective information, exams, and other clinical data
• Prepare and send documentation to physician for review via authentication of data entry and procedures
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to monitor basic lab results and screenings
• Monitor duration of lab tests and follow up as necessary
• Ensure accurate documentation in patient records
• Support compliance with hospital and ProScribe policies
• Understand HIPAA regulations and Joint Commission standards
• Understand site-specific policies and ProScribe policies
• Demonstrate professionalism per attendance policies; shifts may vary by provider and EMR specifics
• Perform other clerical duties to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow
