Job summary

Sacred Heart Residence – Mobile, operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor, seeks a Front Desk Receptionist for evenings/nights on a part-time basis. The role is on-site at our Mobile, AL home, with occasional weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous reception, customer service, healthcare, senior living, or long-term care experience preferred.
• Experience working with older adults is a plus.
• Knowledge of fire safety and emergency procedures is helpful.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Welcome residents, families, visitors, vendors, and other guests with warmth and courtesy.
• Answer, screen, and direct telephone calls and take accurate messages.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment by following visitor sign-in procedures and established security protocols.
• Monitor the reception area and building activity and respond appropriately to security concerns.
• Respond to alarms and emergency situations according to established procedures.
• Listen to residents and families with patience and empathy and help direct their questions or concerns to the appropriate staff member.
• Help maintain a peaceful, welcoming, and organized reception area.
• Maintain accurate information such as resident names and room numbers, emergency contacts, department extensions, and key personnel.
• Assist with basic clerical and administrative tasks as needed.
• Work cooperatively with nursing, administrative, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of resident, family, employee, and organizational information.
• Follow all safety, infection-control, security, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties that support the needs and mission of the Home.
