Little Sisters of the Poor – Sacred Heart Residence in Mobile, AL seeks a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Night Shift, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM. The role includes supervising care, documenting meds, and coordinating with physicians and the nursing team. Weekend requirement every other weekend.

The RN will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to elderly residents while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and long-term care regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN license in Alabama.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

Little Sisters of the Poor – Sacred Heart Residence is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated nursing team on the Night Shift, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM.

What You'll Do

As an RN Staff Nurse, you will provide and supervise quality nursing care to ensure residents attain or maintain their highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate residents and monitor changes in their condition.
• Administer and document medications and treatments accurately and timely.
• Recognize changes in resident condition and promptly communicate concerns to the Director of Nursing, Unit Supervisor, physicians, and responsible parties as appropriate.
• Respond calmly and effectively to resident and employee emergencies.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately and timely.
• Participate in comprehensive resident assessments and individualized care planning.
• Prepare for and assist with physician visits.
• Supervise and provide direction to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other nursing staff.
• Follow up on nursing assignments to ensure residents receive appropriate care.
• Communicate pertinent resident information to nursing staff and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Communicate with residents' families and responsible parties regarding resident needs and changes in condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including admissions, readmissions, discharges, changes in condition, and accident/incident reports.
• Ensure rehabilitation and restorative measures are followed.
• Monitor medical supplies and equipment for appropriate use and safety.
• Promote resident rights, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection prevention, OSHA/safety requirements, and applicable long-term care regulations.
• Work cooperatively with nursing staff and other departments to provide excellent resident care.
• Assist with orientation and training of nursing assistants and other nursing staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama.
• Current CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
• Basic computer proficiency, including electronic medical records.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Working knowledge of nursing practices and applicable long-term care regulations.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must meet applicable local, state, and federal background-check requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of nursing experience.
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, geriatrics, rehabilitation, or psychiatric/behavioral health.
• Previous experience working as a Charge Nurse.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works primarily in resident care areas within a long-term care environment. The RN routinely uses standard nursing equipment and electronic medical records and may be exposed to medical equipment, cleaning products, personal protective equipment, blood and body fluids, and infectious agents associated with resident care.

The position requires the ability to stand and walk frequently, assist with resident transfers and repositioning, respond to emergencies, and safely perform essential nursing duties.

Professional Attire

Scrubs are required for this position because the RN provides direct resident care. Professional attire is expected when attending meetings, special events, or representing Sacred Heart Residence outside the Home.
