Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time role requires performing routine and specialty laboratory tests, evaluating results, maintaining instruments, and contributing to quality control and proficiency testing.

The MLS must hold a Bachelor's or Associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology, have an MLS/MT (ASCP) certification, and possess at least one year of laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited program.
• Certification: Current MLS/MT (ASCP) registration or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of laboratory experience in high/moderate complexity testing.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work with others and collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform routine and special laboratory tests according to procedures and record results.
• Evaluate results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness; report and notify as required.
• Calibrate, maintain and repair instruments; recognize malfunctions and implement corrections.
• Perform and review quality control and quality assurance per protocol; take corrective action when indicated.
• Participate in internal and external proficiency testing.
• Conduct specialty testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation; support accreditation standards.
