Job summary

Avamere at Hermiston is seeking a Medication Tech for the evening shift (2pm-10pm) with a rotating 4 days on / 2 days off schedule. The role focuses on administering medications and providing direct care to residents in a memory care/assisted living environment.

The position requires CPR/First Aid Certification, a Food Handler’s Card, and EMR documentation experience, with opportunities to grow within a supportive senior care team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver and Medication Tech in memory care or assisted living.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Administer accurately and timely and record in the resident's record.
• Notify the pharmacy or family when medications need refilling.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report side effects to the Director of Health Services.
• Document changes in residents’ status in the EMR.
• Follow care plans related to medication administration.
• Assist with medical appointments and communicate with providers.
• Observe residents for health changes and report concerns.
• Perform delegated nursing services as assigned and participate in education.
