Job summary

Avamere Communities is seeking a part-time Med Tech to join our Bethany location in Portland, OR. The Swing shift runs 2-10pm, with weekend coverage, providing direct resident care and medication administration under licensed supervision.

The role focuses on accuracy, safety, documentation in the EMR, and collaboration with nursing staff. Eligible candidates will have memory care or assisted living experience and CPR/First Aid, plus a food handler card.

Qualifications

• Caregiver and Medication Tech experience in memory care or assisted living.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Food Handler's Card.
• Experience with EMR documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders, delegated by and under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with facility policy.
• Administer medications accurately and timely.
• Record medications administered in the resident’s record.
• Notify the pharmacy or family when medications need to be refilled.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report side effects to the Director of Health Services.
• Record shift information and changes to medication orders in the EMR.
• Follow care plans related to medication administration.
• Assist with medical appointments and advocate for residents.
