Job summary

Avamere at The Stafford in Lake Oswego, OR is seeking a part-time Medication Tech for Sundays (6am-2pm). You will administer medications under RN supervision, maintain accurate records, and support residents’ daily care needs within a memory care/assisted living environment.

Responsibilities include documenting in EMR, coordinating with pharmacy, and participating in resident care plans while fostering a warm, professional atmosphere for seniors.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver and Medication Tech in memory care or assisted living.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm environment.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders, delegated by and under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with facility policy.
• Administer accurately and timely.
• Record medications administered in the resident's record.
• Notify the pharmacy (or family when applicable) when medications need to be refilled.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and medication room.
• Monitor and report any/all side effects of medications to the Director of Health Services.
• Obtain/provide shift report and record sufficient information related to medication administration.
• Follow comprehensive care plans related to medication administration.
• Assist with medical appointments, advocating for residents’ needs.
• Observe residents for changes in health and monitor vital signs.
• Document changes in residents’ status in the EMR.
• Complete accident and incident reports as required.
• Perform delegated nursing services as assigned by the RN.
