Job summary

Avamere Living in Hermiston, OR is seeking a dedicated Medication Tech for the evening shift (2pm-10pm) with a rotating 4 days on / 2 days off schedule. You will administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse and maintain accurate records.

You’ll work closely with residents, families, and healthcare providers to support quality of life in a memory care/assisted living setting. Prior EMR experience and CPR/First Aid certification preferred; on-site facility benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as a caregiver and medication tech in memory care or assisted living.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders under supervision.
• Administer accurately and timely.
• Record medications in the resident's chart.
• Notify pharmacy when refills are needed.
• Maintain a clean medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report side effects.
• Follow care plans related to medication administration.
• Assist with medical appointments and communicate with providers.
• Observe residents for health changes and monitor vital signs.
• Document changes in EMR.
• Participate in in-service education.
• Report changes promptly to Health Services Director.
• Ensure safety of residents and cooperate with staff.
• Assist new employees with policies.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
