Job summary

Avamere at Sherwood seeks a Med Tech to administer medications and provide direct care to residents. Swing shift (2-10pm), full-time. Pass meds per orders under RN supervision and document diligently in EMR.

Maintain medication areas and report concerns. Requirements include memory care or assisted living experience, CPR/First Aid, and food handler certification. The role includes assisting with appointments, communicating with providers, and supporting residents’ needs in a caring, safe

Qualifications

• Experience as Caregiver and Medication Tech in memory care or assisted living.
• Ability to obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Administer medications accurately and timely.
• Record medications administered in the resident's records.
• Notify pharmacy or family when medications need refilling.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report side effects to the Director of Health Services.
• Follow care plans for medication administration.
• Assist with medical appointments and advocate for residents.
