Job summary

Avamere in Moses Lake, WA seeks a Part-time Medication Tech to support memory care residents. You will pass and administer medications under RN supervision, document in the EMR, and monitor residents for health changes while coordinating with nursing staff and families.

Responsibilities include maintaining medication carts, reporting adverse effects, and supporting care plans and daily operations with professionalism and compassion.

Qualifications

• Experience in Memory Care or Assisted Living required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable during employment.
• Food Handler's Card required.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Friendly, attentive and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders under licensed nurse supervision.
• Administer medications accurately and timely.
• Record medications in the resident’s EMR.
• Notify pharmacy or family when refills are needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report side effects to the Director of Health Services.
• Record shift reports and changes to medication orders.
• Follow care plans for medication administration.
• Assist with medical appointments and advocate for residents.
• Observe residents for health changes and monitor vital signs.
• Document changes in residents’ status in the EMR.
• Complete incident reports per policy.
• Perform delegated nursing tasks as assigned by the RN.
• Participate in in-service education.
• Report changes promptly to the Director of Health Services.
• Follow directions and perform duties professionally.
• Ensure resident safety under supervision.
• Work cooperatively with residents, staff, physicians, families and providers.
• Assist new employees in following policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
