Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician/MLS professional for the Pineville lab (Atrium Health Pineville - Lab: Providence). The role requires a bachelor’s degree and MT/MLS registry eligibility. Schedule: 6:30pm-7am, every other weekend; pay range $28.55–$42.85 hourly.

MT/ASCP certification within one year of hire is required. FTE status varies by shift and department needs. Position includes QA adherence, reagent prep, inventory management, regulatory compliance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• MT, MLS or equivalent registry eligible.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures and policies by adherence to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work area.
• Prepares reagents, maintains an adequate supply of materials for test procedures and manages inventory to reduce departmental waste/expense.
• Exercises clinical judgment in assessing priorities and solves problems by coordinating with appropriate departments and service when needed.
• Assists with review and revision of procedures and documentation for accreditation and regulatory requirements (CAP, TJC, OSHA).
• Maintains clear, real time communications shift-to-shift and with leadership regarding issues affecting patient care or department operations.
• Participates in planning and implementing change through staff meetings, task forces or projects.
• Participates in competency assessment programs where qualified.
