Job summary

Lexington Health in West Columbia, SC seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a full-time role in the Microbiology department on the PM shift (1300-2130). The MLS will provide laboratory services for inpatients and outpatients, ensuring high-quality testing and accurate analyses to support patient care.

Eligible candidates must hold or be eligible for MLS/MT certification and meet education requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a national or international accredited institution.
• Active MT/MLS certification by ASCP BOC or equivalent state/government board.
• Candidates registry-eligible may apply if certification obtained within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and automated testing using laboratory instrumentation.
• Ensure quality control and relate data to patient diagnoses and treatment.
• Maintain records, document test results and QC procedures.
• Provide patient care/support in line with safety policies at LMC.
• Train new staff and students on procedures and equipment.
