Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to provide high-quality laboratory testing for inpatients and outpatients at our Blythewood/Columbia area facilities. The MLS will handle both routine and specialty analyses, ensuring accuracy and timely results in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires an MLS certification (ASCP/BOC or equivalent) or registry eligibility with certification within one year, plus a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual laboratory testing
• Perform automated laboratory testing
• Collect specimens, including venipunctures for diverse age groups
• Review quality control data and maintain records
• Train new employees and students on procedures and equipment
• Ensure safety and compliance with laboratory policies
• Maintain instrument calibration and troubleshoot issues

Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Active MT/MLS certification (ASCP/BOC or equivalent)
