Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in Lansing, MI is seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic to repair and maintain facility machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance and skilled problem solving. Qualifications

• Five+ years in a manufacturing environment, aerospace preferred.
• Deep electrical, blueprints, and maintenance schematic reading required.
• Experience with industrial production systems, hydraulics, plumbing, and control systems.
• Ability to operate drills and hand tools; use measuring/test equipment (voltmeters).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and environmental standards in all tasks.
• Repair and maintain facility machinery and equipment via preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with vendors/contractors for equipment repair as needed.
• Diagnose issues in hydraulic and electrical systems; determine root cause.
• Read drawings/schematics and implement repairs to specifications.
• Provide process improvements to increase machine efficiency and uptime.
• Prioritize daily activities to keep facility running; on-call rotation may apply.
• Clean up tools and work area after each job; perform other duties as assigned.
