Job summary

Unitek College Of Nursing in California is seeking a Full-time Evening Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. The position involves visiting clinical sites and delivering both lecture content and clinical rotations, with evenings and weekends as needed.

The instructor will review curricula, employ innovative teaching methods, mentor students, maintain records, and participate in committees. California licensure as RN or LVN required, BSN/ASN as specified, and ATI certification within 60

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current CA licensure.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; ASN or BSN or credentials as required by state regulations.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• 3 yrs of Nursing experience with BSN or 6 yrs of Nursing experience with ASN.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.
• Must obtain ATI Certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek).

Responsibilities

• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs.
• Teach both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends).
• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction with innovative methodologies.
• Demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities to enhance course content.
• Assist with reviewing and revising syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines.
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner.
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms; assist with data collection.
• Assist with updating and maintaining student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements.
• Participate in professional development and committees as assigned.
