Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Greenville, SC is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher (Steward) to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass, and silver while supporting the kitchen team. The role includes following sanitation standards and assisting with food storage and rotation.

The position requires standing for long periods, ability to lift heavy items, and a friendly, service-oriented demeanor. Shift is 4pm–midnight and includes holidays and weekends, with full benefits offered where

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel or related field preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Stand for the full shift.
• Able to lift heavy objects up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and guests.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Follow sanitation standards and hotel policies.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain regular attendance and proper grooming.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in kitchens, back dock, and related areas.
• Clean ovens, grills, sinks, and other heavy equipment.
• Wash pots, pans, and utensils; sanitize and store properly.
• Sweep, mop, and wash floors in food and beverage areas.
• Inform management of shortages and equipment issues.
• Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Return clean china, glass, and silver to proper storage with care.
• Follow safety procedures for handling chemicals.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of restaurant buffet and events.
