Job summary

Highgate Hotels seeks a Dishwasher (Steward) in Greenville, SC. Responsible for keeping china, glass, and silver clean and stored, and assisting kitchen staff with sanitation and storage areas.

The role supports food preparation and rotational storage, with shifts including 4pm–Midnight and holidays/weekends. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, ability to stand long hours, and the stamina to lift heavy items.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel experience preferred.
• Flexible hours and ability to work long shifts.
• Must lift up to 100 pounds occasionally; able to stand for entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high cleanliness and order in kitchens, back dock, dumpster and utility areas.
• Heavy cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, walls, floors, walk-ins and equipment.
• Wash pots, pans and utensils; vacuum carpeted areas near food and beverage outlets.
• Sweep, mop and wash floors in dining and kitchen areas.
• Report shortages of equipment and supplies to management.
• Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation.
• Return cleaned items to proper storage with care to minimize breakage.
• Follow safe handling techniques for all chemicals used.
• Report faulty equipment to management immediately.
• Empty garbage from Food & Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster.
• Know the location and operation of fire extinguishing equipment.
• Follow safe work habits to prevent injuries.
• Assist in breakdown and reassembly of kitchen equipment; maintain sanitation standards.
• Assist with restaurant buffet setup/breakdown and banquet service as needed.
