Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer for Highland Park Hospital in Highland Park, IL. This full-time role covers evenings, 10:30pm – 6:30am, and involves unarmed security to protect people and property.

You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents, escort patients and visitors, and coordinate with police when needed. Requires HS diploma and security-related experience; healthcare familiarity a plus. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Preferred: two years in law enforcement, military or private security.
• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• CPI or related certification within six months is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide unarmed uniformed security and safety services under supervision.
• Perform bicycle patrol duties when required.
• Patrol facilities and grounds on foot or by vehicle and investigate unusual occurrences.
• Report incidents and coordinate with police if needed; assist during investigations.
• Respond to service calls in a timely, safe, and courteous manner; greet customers and provide directions.
• Escort patients and visitors to locations; direct traffic and manage access around hospital grounds.
• Ensure loading docks and ambulance zones are clear of unauthorized vehicles; issue parking citations.
