Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer in Glenview, IL. This full-time night shift role involves unarmed, uniformed security services to protect persons and property across the hospital campus.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, at least one year in customer-focused service, and the listed licenses and certifications within set timelines. Duties include patrols, incident reporting, escort assistance, traffic control, and potential restraint and police

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Valid Illinois Firearm Owner's Identification Card within 90 days of start date.
• Current CPR certification within 90 days of start date.
• A valid driver's license with evidence of automobile liability coverage if using personal vehicle.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within six months of hire.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within twelve months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas of facilities and grounds on foot or in a motorized vehicle according to schedule and investigates unusual occurrences.
• Reports incidents or loss of hospital, employee, patient or visitor property and involves police when necessary; provides assistance during investigations.
• Responds to service calls in a timely, safe, professional and courteous manner.
• Welcomes customers and provides directions to patients and visitors; offers escort to destinations when possible.
• Directs vehicle traffic around hospital facilities; ensures loading docks and ambulance zones are clear; issues parking citations and records them.
• Physically restrains unruly individuals and, if necessary, involves police; assists including court testimony.
• Protects patient and employee valuables and equipment; monitors lost and found items.
• Checks doors/windows and inspects equipment, alarms, fire safety devices; notifies personnel of issues.

Education
