Job summary

East High School in Cheyenne, WY is seeking a Head Custodian to lead the custodial staff and oversee facilities. The role covers cleaning, maintenance, safety, and scheduling for a 12-month site, with hours 3:00pm–11:00pm, Monday through Friday. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 6 months custodial experience.
• Experience preferred in supervision and/or facilities maintenance.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• English language skills - Oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, supervisory skills; bilingual preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to adhere to attendance expectations and district procedures.
• Ability to promote and follow Board of Trustees policies, District policies, and building procedures.
• Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to recognize safety importance and report unsafe conditions.
• Basic operating knowledge of custodial cleaning equipment required at hire; computer skills preferred.
• Experience with basic hand tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and inspects facilities and grounds to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive educational environment.
• Supervises custodial staff; trains and schedules personnel; communicates with staff and administration.
• Plans daily activities and schedules custodial staff for events.
• Monitors building systems and responds to safety/operational concerns during and after hours.
• Prepares the school for activities, events, and daily operations.
• Performs minor maintenance on custodial equipment and transports supplies as needed.
• Open gates, sweep, remove snow, and perform perimeter checks.
• Order supplies and deliver to appropriate locations; participate in meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
