Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license.
• Minimum two (2) years prior custodial experience required.
• Knowledge of efficient custodial practices, which includes care and use of equipment; cleaning, minor maintenance and care of grounds.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of efficiency and attention to detail; must be a self-starter.
• Must be able to work well with children.
• Knowledge of the principles of heating, ventilation, sanitation and care of school buildings.
• Knowledge of inventorying, ordering and storing all types of supplies.
• Knowledge of floor refinishing and carpet care.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to use a computer to complete work requests and other work related functions.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships that foster efficiently and productivity and promotes cooperation with administrators, fellow employees, students, faculty and the public.
• Must maintain neat, clean personal appearance.
• Display professional behavior at all times.
• Must possess flexibility in assignment, changing gears at a moment’s notice.
• Ability to handle conflict.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality is a required.

Responsibilities

• Leads custodial staff scheduling and training; evaluates staff in the building.
• Maintains inventory and recommends purchases of supplies and equipment.
• Performs duties of custodian and leads setup/removal of furniture for events.
• Opens and secures building; maintains building security.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance tasks for floors, walls, carpets and fixtures.
• Reads and interprets instructions and labels; uses chemicals safely.
• Works with evening groups utilizing the facility.
• Supports Eastmont School District policies and directives; reports promptly and efficiently.
