Job summary

Laramie County School District 1 at Saddle Ridge Elementary School in Cheyenne, Wyoming is seeking a Head Custodian. This full-time, 12-month position runs Monday through Friday, 12:00am–8:00pm with a pay rate of $16.86/hour plus benefits.

The role oversees custodial staff and custodial operations to maintain a safe, clean school environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months custodial experience, and strong safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months custodial experience.
• Experience in supervision and/or facilities maintenance.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• English language skills – oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, supervisory skills, basic math; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and inspects facilities to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
• Supervises custodial staff, trains, plans, assigns, and directs work; coordinates with supervisor.
• Plans daily activities and schedules custodial staff for events.
• Monitors building systems and responds to safety/operational concerns.
• Prepares site for events and performs minor maintenance on equipment.
• Opens/closes facilities, monitors alarms, and secures premises.
• Orders supplies and delivers items within the building.
• Participates in meetings and training sessions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 6 months custodial experience

Experience in supervision and/or facilities maintenance

Criminal background check required
