Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area, load/unload trailers, and assist with freight documentation. Starting pay is $20.16 per hour, with shift from 1700 to 2300.

Required are at least 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent preferred, and prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred. Excellent safety compliance and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing/freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and heavy dock plates repeatedly.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight in dock area to/from trailers for loading/unloading.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify documentation matches freight details (type, weight, hazards).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or ropes.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight docs.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
