Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Dock/ Freight Handler to move freight across dock areas, assist with loading to trailers, and perform hostling duties as needed. The role requires physical stamina and safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.

Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with shift hours 1700-2130. You will verify documentation, secure freight, assist customers, and complete required reports in a fast-paced, weather-exposed dock environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Move freight using forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat) in electronic or manual systems.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
