Job summary

FedEx Freight in the United States is seeking a dock associate to move freight across the dock and assist with loading/unloading from trailers. The role uses forklift, pallet jack and hand truck to securely stage shipments.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and 18+ years old. Prior warehouse or forklift experience is preferred, with basic math and communication skills essential for daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
