Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area, load and unload trailers, and ensure accurate freight documentation.

You will use forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck, securing cargo and assisting customers with freight needs in a fast-paced environment. Typical duties include verifying paperwork, recouping damaged freight, and completing reports while complying with safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and dock plates repeatedly throughout shift.
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate or assist with motorized and manual equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope; recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports; assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
