Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and pallet jacks, verifying paperwork, securing freight in trailers, and maintaining accurate documentation with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Applicants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be prepared for a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing or freight handling preferred.
• Experience with hostler/yard mule duties preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100 pounds and dock plates up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation against description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
