Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a dock-to-trailer transport associate to move freight across dock areas using forklift and manual equipment, verify paperwork, and help load and secure shipments. You will also verify cargo details and assist customers with freight documentation, complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years old, and prior warehousing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Experience with hostler/yard mule duties is a plus.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry varying weights, dock plates up to 100 lbs, and open trailer doors with up to 75 lbs lift force multiple times daily.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Move freight across dock area using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
