Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight between trailers and dock areas. The role requires operating forklifts and pallet jacks, verifying freight details, and securing loads for transit.

You will assist customers with freight paperwork and perform hostling duties as needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum 18 years old, and prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description and secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
