Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center Environmental Services is seeking a part-time team member to scrub, strip, polish and maintain hospital floors and restrooms. This role requires working 24 hours per week with day/evening shifts from 1 PM to 9:30 PM in Week 1 and similar on Week 2.

The ideal candidate will operate cleaning equipment, follow safety procedures, handle waste, and provide courteous service to patients and staff while meeting department goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; 1–2 years housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to operate small electrical equipment and use cleaning tools.
• Strong English communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, strip, polish and refinish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor machines, sweepers).
• Respond to spills; maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Handle waste disposal following hospital procedures.
• Support department goals and provide courteous service to patients and staff.
