Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in El Paso seeks an Engineering Technician for 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.). The role supports manufacturing by interpreting mechanical and subassembly drawings, BOMs, and 3-D models for complex assemblies.

Salary is $25/hr plus $1.00 shift differential, with standard guidance guidance based on skills and market considerations. Qualified candidates read electrical diagrams, can use CAD tools, and have at least a high school diploma with 1 year

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience OR a degree in a technical discipline
• Ability to read engineering drawings (mechanical, electrical and schematics), understanding CAD and drafting principles.
• Experience working with Electrical diagrams and schematics.
• No relocation is provided for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility will be considered.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.
• 3-4 years of experience in an electrical manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, understanding CAD and drafting principles.
• Comfortable in the use of engineering and productivity tools (CAD software, Office suite and AS400)
• Experience working with electrical Switchgears, switchboards, or Motor Control Centers
• Associate degree in Engineering or related discipline
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Examine 3-D models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor or other software to assist during manufacturing.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet specifications.
• Check work to ensure compliance with plant Quality Standards.
• Know standards (ANSI, NEMA, UL, CSA).
• Analyze and interpret design standards and tolerances.
• Prepare information to support material procurement and installation.
• Review product structure bills of material for manufacturing.
• Maintain contact with manufacturing personnel to discuss changes.
• Support Eaton Lean Systems, Quality Systems, MESH and Pro Launch for certifications.
• Support plant process changes via Change Management.
