Job summary

Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support physicians and nurses in the ED. This full-time position offers 36 hours per week with an evening shift from 3 PM to 3 AM at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Emergency Department.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient care plans, performing procedures under supervision, and participating in de-escalation and basic treatments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification options include EMT-B with state/national cert at hire OR US Military Hospital Corps School or MMAC candidates OR active student in a clinical program with at least one semester completed.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients.
• Performs patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• De-escalation training and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
