Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Part-Time Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for the night shift. The role supports physicians and nurses in emergency and minor care, performing procedures under supervision and completing required training, including de-escalation and physical intervention within 15 days.

Healthcare professionals with EMT-B certification and BLS within 90 days are prioritized; current students in clinical programs and prior Sentara

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR military Hospital Corps School OR current student in clinical program (RN/LPN/Respiratory/PT) having completed at least one semester.
• Prior Sentara ED tech experience in the past two years will be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients.
• Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training is required within 15 days of hire.
