Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support the Norfolk General Hospital ED team in delivering essential care. The role is on-site in Norfolk, VA, with a 36-hour workweek and a day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM).

You will assist physicians and nurses in implementing care plans and performing procedures under supervision. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and EMT-B or current clinical program status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT-B or comparable certification at time of hire or equivalent.
• Experience in clinical/emergency settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses in implementing care plans for emergency patients.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Complete de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire; maintain BLS within 90 days.
