Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking to hire an Emergency Department Technician for an on-site role in Norfolk, Virginia. The position is part-time, night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Emergency Department.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians and nurses with plans of care for emergency patients and performing procedures under supervision. De-escalation and physical intervention training are required within 15 days of hire, with BLS certification due within 90

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
• Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR
• Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients.
• Performs patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
