Job summary

Burton Center is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional to join our team in Ware Shoals. The role runs 3:45pm–11:45pm, totaling 40 hours per week, and supports up to four adults with disabilities under the Community Training Home program.

You will provide person-centered care, promote independence, and help with daily living tasks. Training is thorough, and you will use a Chromebook to track progress and complete reports.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to be adaptive, a team player, and advocate for others.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to up to four adults with disabilities in a Community Training Home.
• Implement training programs, encourage independence, and community engagement.
• Assist with daily living tasks including self-care, meals, hygiene, and transportation.
• Record objectives and progress using Therap on a Chromebook; complete progress reports.
• Follow behavioral support plans and participate in planned activities and outings.
