Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Virginia Beach is seeking a Dining Services Associate to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents in a safe, sanitary environment, adhering to Public Health Regulations and the Sanitation Code.

The role requires Tuesday and Thursday evening shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts; you will support the Dining Services Director, maintain clean dining and kitchen areas, and help deliver a warm, respectful dining experience that reflects our

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances throughout the day; tolerate heat from the kitchen.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment with proper hand washing and routine cleaning.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a respectful manner, mindful of residents' needs.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment according to cleaning schedules.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear dishes.
• Receive stock and store it following procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when mechanical equipment is unavailable.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
