Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Dining Services Associate for the 2nd shift. You will assist the Dining Services Director in creating and delivering the community’s signature dining program, providing friendly service to residents and upholding our core values.

The role requires the ability to read and write English, a Food Handler Certification or equivalent, and readiness to learn new tasks. You will work varied shifts and rotating weekends, with a comprehensive benefits package for

Qualifications

• Must have Food Handler Certification or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand/walk for long periods; tolerate kitchen heat.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe, sanitary manner according to Public Health Regulations.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS concepts.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment through proper cleaning and hand washing.
• Serve meals in a pleasant, respectful manner, mindful of residents' special needs.
• Safely use and maintain kitchen equipment and follow cleaning schedules.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear and clean dishes.
• Receive stock and store it according to procedures.
• Follow procedures when equipment is unavailable; assist as directed by Dining Services Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
