Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3-5 Years of experience with some supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently, resolve problems and function as a member of a team.
• Ability to communicate well, with strong writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision to meet required deadlines.
• High degree of confidentiality and discretion.
• Ability to lift and move heavy furniture and operate bulky and heavy equipment.
• Physically capable of lifting 40 -50 lbs.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Knowledge of supervisory responsibilities, department and College policies.

Responsibilities

• Staff Supervision: Hire, train, supervise, and ensure continued development of custodial staff, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures and that work is performed in a manner which supports overall strategic goals and priorities and actively fosters a team setting.
• Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Coordinate and contact suppliers for services and goods, review bids and evaluate services and pricing, provide oversight as needed.
• Inventory & Supply Management: Manage inventory, review bids, coordinate monthly supply orders and equipment.
• Emergency Response: Serve as initial contact in emergencies and coordinate staffing as needed, with possible overtime.
• Inclement Weather Coordination: Monitor weather to ensure sufficient staffing for snow/ice clearance.
• Compliance, Records & Safety: Maintain records and ensure OSHA safety regulations are observed, review materials and provide training.
• Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.
